The Story
A hyrdo-dip type of patterned butterfly from South America. Both views of this Cracker butterfly are beautiful, its red form is just as striking as their psychedelic blue drizzles. The hamadryas "species" common name comes from the sound their wings emit when mid-air. The "Crackling" sounds are also a part of their courtship rituals with female counterparts. It's great to have this guy returning to our shop, he would be a hypnotic addition to any collection!
These come from a new relationship we have with a butterfly farm in Ecuador. This farm and the family that work there protect over 240 acres of old-growth rainforests located around the farm!
