The Story

CRCT: A RARE a highly sought after set of reference books on butterflies over 100yrs old, by renowned author & butterfly expert Dr. Adalbert Seitz. Generally known as "The Seitz books," these were considered the gold standard of butterfly reference books, and are still extremely relevant for any butterfly enthusiast or collector today! The plates detail in beautifully colored illustrations many of the most rare and desirable butterflies, in this case from Australia, Indonesia, as well as Jamaica (the extremely rare P. homerus butterfly is pictured!) and South America. The book of plates (illustrations) contains over 170 stunning pages of illustrations, we have included photographs of several of the plates in this listing. These books are leather bound with gold detailing on the cover, some light wear from gentle use, but generally in very good condition. From the collection of Constance Tipton, our founder.
